When coming to Vietnam, one of the traditional food that you must to give it a try that is "Banh Mi" - a harmony of savory ingredients filled in a thin & crispy Vietnamese baguette.

Personally, I have to say that bread is very special food and it is not as same as a bread in other countries. Each time when you eat bread, you will enjoy the crispness of bread combined with the fat of pate, pork, package of vegetables and indispensable to make the special taste of Saigon bread is the sauce. Each city of Vietnam will have the slightly difference taste of bread in order to match the taste of the local citizen.

Vietnamese people prefer to eat bread in the morning because of its convenience. You can easy to buy bread anywhere and bring it into the coffee shop and enjoy your breakfast. I bet you will really like the bread when you have a chance to try it at Ho Chi Minh.

Lastly, I would like to suggest you (my friends) some places that I had experience before. I hope you can enjoy one of the famous traditional Vietnamese food.

Bread Store in Ho Chi Minh:

  • Banh Mi Huynh Hoa; 26 Le Thi Rieng Street, District 1; Price: 33,000 VND (~1.3 EUR)

  • Banh Mi Nhu Lan; 363-365 Hai Ba Trung Street, District 1; Price: 15,000 – 55,000 VND (0.6 EUR - 2 EUR)
